Twas the month after Christmas and all through the house Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse. The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste; All the holiday parties had gone to my waist. When I got on the scales there arose such a number! When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber); I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared; The gravies and sauces and veggie turkey nicely rared.... The fudge and the tea cakes, the bread and the cheese And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please." As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt And prepared once again to do battle with dirt--- I said to myself, as I only can "You can't spend winter disguised as a man!" So--away with the last of the sour cream dip. Got rid of the fruitcake, every cracker and chip. Every last bit of food that I like must be banished, 'Till all the additional ounces have vanished. I won't have a cookie--not even a lick. I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick. I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie, I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry. I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore-- But isn't that what January is for? Unable to giggle, no longer a riot. Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

New Year.... New Plan.... New Goal!!!
Last year was an amazing year for me. No I didn't quite meet my goal but I lost a total of 35 pounds last year ((WOOT WOOT)) I am beyond thrilled with that. Every time I go into my closet and grab something I wore last year and put it on and it is big on me or grab things I couldn't wear last year and they fit big not tight it is a WONDERFUL feeling!!! But I am still not done. See a few weeks ago Alfalfa and I made a deal I still have at least 20 lbs that I would like to see gone and he would like to lose 40 lbs this year before he turns the big 4-0 but last week our goals changed in a way. The weight loss is still a HUGE goal but we would like to do it a little faster now and we have to get in GREAT shape. See we were called to be a Ma and Pa on our stake's upcoming Trek in June. And I am NOT going to be the Ma that is so freaking out of shape that my "kids" have to drag me up the hill!!! And I am NOT going to let the work and exhaustion that will happen get the best of me. I want to be in good enough shape that I will be tired but not DEAD!!! So today it begins!!!! I am going to spend some time every day working out for now and as soon as it warms up and I can I am going to start hiking to the top of the Dry Farm 2 times a day :) I plan on strapping my little man to my back so when we are on Trek and he won't be there with me (no don't talk to me about that it makes me cry ALLOT) I am hoping that not having his extra 35 pounds on me will make it so I can fly up those hills and keep up our teenage "kids" and they won't think I am an old wimpy girl :) So to myself I say READY SET GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else have goals for the year?? I would love to hear them :)

Celebration Day!
I finally made it! Today at my weigh in I have hit my double zero. WAHOO!!! This has been a long time coming, and I haven't seen this number since before having my kids. I wanted to celebrate, and I knew that my fellow club zero members would be willing to celebrate with me. Thanks everybody, and keep working. We can all get there!!

Just me :)
Yes it is just me again. Sometimes I think you all think I am crazy :) Because I post a lot on here but you see at the first of the year I made a goal with myself. I wanted to lose 40 pounds this year. I am SO CLOSE!!! I have lost 32 pounds so far but now I am thinking if I work really hard I can get that last 8 pounds gone. OK OK OK OK I know the Marathon was my idea and I kind of tripped at the starting line and I think I must have broken something because I just didn't do it. I am however glad that I inspired someone else to get going and do some good for her and that little baby of hers but now it is time for me to work really hard and get rid of the last 8 for this year. NO that doesn't mean I am really anywhere close to my 00 but I am getting closer every day!!! So anyone with me for a good end of year fit into my skinny jeans by Christmas weight loss challenge :)

Odds are getting better
I don't know how many Club Zero members there are left. I know we all look at it periodically, so I thought you might like to know that 2 club zero members are in the running for the prize at the end of the challenge, and one is only a point off (which is HUGE - so still a major success). I was also looking at the weeks toady and realizing there are only 4 weeks left in the challenge. I am waiting for liberation, but already making some goals that I want to stick to after it is all over. I will definitely be more careful about treats and sweets. I have been amazed at how often they are placed in our paths. I don't want to have to say no every time, but it is nice to know it is OK when I need to. I am going to keep up with the journal writing. My blog and hand written journal have helped me get back to that good habit of keeping a record, not only of my family and the goings on, but of my feelings as well. Some of the items like the water, fruits and veggies, and exercise have become so much easier I hardly have to think about them. So those should continue as well.
Overall I am glad I have accepted and will be glad to have it over. I think a regular challenge is good for me. It really helped me to be accountable and make some great positive changes. Here's to a strong finish!

End of Marathon Report :)
I am proud to say that I made my goal. There was 2 days of walking that I missed (one due to a sick day, and the other I just forgot). Other then that I made both my goals :) I hope to keep walking as much as I can. It has really helped me out for sure :)

Getting Closer to 00
I have a friend that does fitness and exercise programs for Ogden Regional. It is called "Get your body back". Basically she has more tools at her disposal now to help with weight loss. I was very hesitant to go, because I have been working on the challenge and that is enough to keep my brain busy. However, she had volunteered her time and her services and equipment, and I was curious where I was, so I went.
The good news is - I am only 3 pounds away from my 00! I know that may not be as low as I can (or should) go, but it will be a real celebration for me. I have had very gradual weight loss and to finally reach that number would be awesome. Bad news - my body fat percentage is a little high. Nothing that I can't work on, but there is still much work to do.
So even though I was apprehensive I have decided to take her up on her generosity to help with those last pesky pounds and see if I can actually hit that long ago goal.
Wish me luck!

Week 2
I kept on track every day durring week 2 :) This has given me the motovation to do what I need to because it is keeping me accountable for my actions. However, I have missed my first day of walking yesterday. I came home from work w/the worst stomach ach and went right to bed. However, I didn't sleep, I just stayed up w/tummy pain that lasted all night long and into the morning. I am hoping to feel better enough to do my walking today since I feel so bad for not keeping my marathon promise. Well, enough of my pity party. Hope you all are still doing well w/your goals :)

A NSV for me!
Today I went to the temple, and just out of curiosity I tried on the belt that I bought with my dress almost 13 years ago. It hasn't fit since I started having kids. IT FIT!!! I didn't even have to suck in! I decided to wear it this time just to celebrate.
I have been doing better on my goals thanks to the challenge. I am feeling much more focused on the balance that my life needs. I like going to bed and knowing that I actually accomplished something great that day.
Thanks for the inspiration Cookie!

Even on Vacation
Walking has become easier for me. Don't know why. Maybe everything is easier in St George!!!!

Week 1
I haven't been the best at my food choices every day, but I have still stayed w/in my calorie intake and that is what matters right :) I have walked every day, even if I have to ask my hubby to walk with me because it is after dark when I remember that I haven't walked yet :)

p.s. This is for support so you guys need to be posting as well, or am I just posting out of control :)
We can't really give support if we don't know what is going on right?

Day 2 and 3
I have found that the walking is hard to remember when you have stuff going on a lot. I still have made it both days thanks to an amazing hubby that reminds me and is willing to walk with me after 9:30 :) I have also kept w/in my calories both days which I am finding more annoying than hard to do. :)

Try Try Try
My goal for the marithon is to get some kind of excersise every day for 26.2 days. Can't always say what it is but this OLD body needs to get moving.

Official Day one :)
I have to say that day 1 was a success. Even with lunch at Crown Burger, I still stayed w/in my calorie intake. I also got in my 2 miles for the day (after a late night trip to the gym ^_^).

Being Accountable
I know most of you know I have joined Cookie in her challenge. I am amazed at how simply being accountable to someone (or just a chart on my fridge) is keeping me on track. I am always frustrated when it gets to this time of night and I am trying to make sure I didn't leave any "holes" in my day. (Hence the blog at 10:20) I have to say honestly though that this is really helping me in so many more ways than my diet. My home is getting more organized. I am making sure that my health is a priority. My journaling is better that it has been all year. My husband and I are working on similar goals. And, overall, I just feel better about what I am accomplishing and who I am.
I think I am liking those results :)

Official Start date for our Marathon
Sorry I didn't get to posting a start date I actually thought i would throw out the idea, give everyone a chance to see it, and then go from there. I don't think everyone has had a chance to see it or to make their personal goal yet so lets set a date to begin!!! The offical begin date will be September 27th!!! Now don't let that stop you from starting right now but just to make it official and to let all our club zero friends get a chance to see the challenge and decide their personal goals. Now I agree I think we need to post our personal Marathon. And give updates along the way :) Good luck Marathoners :) We hope to get EVERYONE involved!!!!!!! Lets all make goals :)

My Marathon
Since no one has said an official start date, I decided to post my day one and 2. Since I can't loose weight and have been restricted on the excersize that I can do, I have decided to just control my weight gain (since my dr thinks I have gained too much so far) and walk 2 miles every day (since he has told me that is the most I can do). Day one and 2 I have stayed w/in my suggested calorie intake and have got my 2 miles in at some point (even if it is walking after 9pm w/my hubby ^_^). I am ready to do 24.2 more days or just continue when ever the official start date it. I now have some more motovation to do this. Thanks Darla :)

Club Zero Marathon!!!!!
Well Saints Fan has inspired me to want to do a marathon (of sorts) Since my running lasted 3 weeks and my knees were KILLING me I thought we could do a marathon Club Zero style!!! WHO IS IN!!!!! Here are the rules I came up with. You have to do 26.2 days of something.... anything that is good for your body. This could be from exercising every day to simply drinking enough water or just simply coming up with a list of 26.2 reasons that you are an amazing person (personally I think that would be the hardest one) All of us here on Club Zero are at a different point. And I didn't think it would be fair to just say loose 26.2 pounds because I know there are some that don't have 26.2 pounds to loose. The other one I thought would be to loose 26.2 inches :) (I think that is the one I want to do) But since we are all in different situations I thought this would be something we ALL could participate in :) Even those of us who can't diet and exercise right now can participate because it is only 26.2 days of something good for your body. So what do you all think?????? Should we do it????
