Anybody else feeling a New Years Resolution??

I know I have started and stopped more that an old broke down truck, but I am not ready to give up just yet. This next week I am going to be setting, and SHARING, my goals for myself. I will journal them here and hope you guys will support me, and push me when I start to quit. I need someone who will tell me to get back on the bandwagon, and help me stay there. I appreciate the support when I don't do so well, but I have plenty of that. I know that when it all comes down to it it doesn't really matter what size I am. I have no confusion on that matter at all. But I would LIKE to be a certain size, and am going to try try again to get there. What I need is someone who will cheer me in the good times and PUSH me in the hard times......(and I am willing to help anyone else in this same regard).....any volunteers??

(and I have no idea where I am with the + or -'s so I don't really know what to do about that....any suggestions?)

I am a little afraid to post this for fear that it may go away, but I have a NSV. It actually does involve the scale, but I decided not to get on that crazy scale every day. ( I have done that since I completed Weight Watchers because they tell you to do that so that you can keep control of your weight.) But as we started into the Holiday season I was so discouraged with the excess pounds that I carry around each day, I decided to forget the stress and hit everything hard at the first of the year. But "old habits die hard" and I got on the scale this morning. Bad girl I know but to my surprise wieght loss has happened. Through Thanksgiving and everything else that goes on this year 7 pounds have mysteriously disappeared!!! Great to think that I have never deprived myself of food, just the stress of getting on that scale and worrying about every bite that I take. Maybe stress is one of the big players is my weight battle. Now all I have to do is find time to relax. I have to hurry to get things done so I can!!!!!

Is anyone here?

I have to celebrate with someone. I am still determined not to get on the scale for at least a few more weeks, but I measured today and I have lost 2 1/2 inches from my waist since September. I am so excited because this is my hardest part of my body to loose and it is finally getting smaller. Thanks for letting me share my best NSV yet!

Zody

P.S. How is everyone else doing? Let's here some more NSV's!

Have a great week!

Hey club zero members. I just thought since most of us will be focusing on family this week I thought I would say how thankful I am for all of you. It has been nearly a year and we are still here (even if not going strong) If we can stick together through these holidays I know we will all be grateful. Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

SORRY!!!!

Well sorry to all my Club Zero buddies that actually did my challenge. With 5 sick kids this week and 6 trips to the doctors office time for me was non existant. So that is my goal for this week again. If you would like to join me again I would love it :) If you did it last week I want to hear all about it!!!

(and no I still don't have batteries for my scale I never remember till monday morning when I am getting in the shower and I can't get them then :)

New Challenge

Well since you all know this about my only inspiration for loosing weight I thought I would start a weekly challenge. It won't be anything difficult and it won't be anything that ALL club zero members can accomplish. That being said how is everyone doing with their water??? I have done it every day!!!! Well except sunday that fast sunday killed my water intake for the day. O-well :) But my challenge for this week is ******The 10 minute challenge!******* So here are the rules of the 10 minute challenge. The rule is that all week long you spend 10 minutes a day doing something good for your body that you usualy wouldn't do. This can be anything. From eating a healthy lunch for 10 minutes to 10 minutes of exersize. Now I know there are members that spend much more time exersizing than 10 minutes so this is an additional 10 minutes. And if your lunch is usualy crap well 10 minutes of a healthy lunch is great. The only trick is it has to be good for your body. And you have to report back and let us all know how you did for the day. Well what do you think Club Zero buddies. THE CHALLENGE IS ON!!!!!!!

Challenge Time

OK I need these to keep me accountable :) But I would like to challenge all my club zero friends to a drink off today :) Yes you heard me a drink off. I challenge everyone to get at least 8 8oz glasses of water in today. Report back.

Darla
Can I just say that I think you are all pretty amazing!!!! I know MOST of you and those of you I don't really know I feel like I know. I think we have an amazing group of people here!!!!

-Thunderbuns

So...

another 0 for me. I am starting to be able to exersize again a little bit so I hope to see the numbers going down, and if the numbers don't move, at least I hope I start feeling better about all this.

ok

Well I know it is weigh in day but my scale ran out of batteries and I really don't want to drive to Jubilee and buy some today. (DANG SNOW) But I did think I would share with all of you my middle of the night thoughts from the other day. I was thinking as my body was aching and no it was not because I had worked out so long and hard I could hardly move it was because I got my flu shot and had a bad reaction to it. But in my mind I was thinking i needed help. I was feeling like my aches wouldn't be as bad if I wasn't as overweight as I am now. Sadly I am heavier than I have ever been and I know my body had a horrible shock a year ago and I know that is a major part of it and I know my body is just starting to feel better in some ways so I am not going to push things but I am going to recommit myself to myself (in a way) First and always first is the well being of my family and that takes first every time but somewhere in my schedule I am going to fit myself in there. So (in the middle of the night) I was thinking. I would love to go to the gym but I can't afford that. I would love to join a group. But I can't afford that. I would love some new exercise equipment. But allas I can't afford that either :( No I am not whining about money it isn't only money it is time too. See my life is so busy right now none of those things seem realistic. And the thoughts of another monthly payment to a gym or group make my stomach tie in knots so where do I turn ****CLUB ZERO**** Wahoo I am so glad this is here. I am going to start keeping track of the things I eat. Eat better. And actually find that few precious minutes I need to exercise and feel better about myself. I know the weight won't go fast but I really am going to commit myself to myself and make myself happier and healthier :) Thanks Club Zero buddies.

I know it isn't weigh in day, but....

I am down 5 lbs, well on my way to my goal of 15 by Christmas. I have been sick, but the weight was off before then, so I am hoping it sticks. I know it is small, but I have been able to do it in a "liveable" way for me, so I am hoping I can maintain when I get where I want to be. I know I have been scarce, but I haven't quit on you. I am still here and hope you are too!

Still Going

I am still going strong on my goal. The gym is great and I am not bored at all with the workouts. The kids like going with me, so that helps, and I am feeling stronger and less sore each time. I am still going 3 to 4 times a week. I switched the gym for some potato digging today - still a good workout, and you get some great food too :) Week 4 here we come!

Movin' on down :)

I am a - 2.5!! YAY. My side number should now read +1.5. That is a much better number to look at, even though it isn't really the number that counts. It is still better to look at :) The best part of this is that I am doing it with no exerzise. I haven't been able to do much with my knee lately so all of this weight loss is diet. YAY ME!!

motivation

I keep forgetting to weigh in, and keep forgetting to care about being healthy...so I'm looking forward to watching the Biggest Loser again...it motivates me!! Any one else watching?

-Hot Momma

Getting Stronger

Well so far so good. It helps that I can go to the gym after the kids are off to school, and they provide child care during the workout. I have gone 4 days a week for the last two weeks and am feeling much stronger. I still get a hard workout, but am no longer feeling so sore I can't sit, stand or walk without major effort. (like the first week). So I continue. Since I am not going to jump on the scale (which is proving harder than I thought) I am going to take some body measurements and see if I can see a difference. I am planning on measuring once a month and I will still wait for the scales until Christmas. I am liking my new found strength, and hope I can keep up the schedule. Wish me luck.
Zody

guess I will be first.

I am using my weigh in from Sunday since I forgot to weigh in yesterday and this morning. I am a -1 for this week. I am excited to see a little progress in all my hard work.

OOPSIES!!!!!

So I knew that I had gained quite a bit of weight on my week long vacation. I weighed myself today and I have gained 6 pounds!!!! How do you do that??? Um I don't know but I know this crazy cookie man who gave me like 500 delicious cookies and I could not resist!!!!!! But you know what it was well worth it. I'll just have to work a little harder for the next two weeks. :)
- Thunderbuns

SV!!!!!!!

I always love the days that I have a NSV but today was not that I got a SV today!!!! I am -4!!! WAHOOOOOOOO Still a long ways to go but there are a few things in my favor now and I hope they are all going to come together. Good luck everyone :)

Darla

Well

I knew today would be a dangerous weigh in and I wished that I would have remembered yesterday. I ate some delishous Indian food that has lots of sodium in it, so I am blaming my +2 to that :) My side bar should now read a +5. I am having to change things a bit this week, but am planning on still losing :)
-Razzle

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

dang it

I was going to ask for a new zero for a new start, but I'm not going to (even though I want to) As of today my sidebar needs to read +9. not really sure what is going on but I'm going to try to do something about it.

Darla's new plan!!

Well since everyone else is sharing their new plans I will too :) My plan is that every day when I get the kids on the bus I will spend 30 minutes exersizing and then get to work after that. I always seem to find 30 min every morning for the computer so instead I am shutting off the computer and getting my but in shape instead. I hope it works. Today is day 5 of my new goal and it has been working so hopefully it will continue. I am also watchin a little what I eat. I had a HUGE NSV this week. I made cinnamon rolls monday night and tuesday morning I wanted one for breakfast so bad. But I was determined to do my workout and would you believe that after I had worked out that cinnamon roll didn't even sound good. So a bowl a grapenuts it was and I felt much better about myself all day :) Good luck to everyone on their new plans!!!

Thunderbuns New Goal.......

I like that everyone is re committing themselves with new goals so I'm going to make a goal. I have about 15 pounds to loose to reach my 00. My 00 is a weight that I think is realistic for me. Of course I would like to be at my all time lowest weight before I had my third baby BUT I have decided that I want to be at a weight that I can keep up and still have fun, live life and not have to work out 22 hours a day.

So my goal will be to loose my last 15 in 8 weeks (might be 20 after my week long vacation). That is a slow steady loss and it seems like that no matter how hard I try my body only allows me to loose weight VERY SLOWLY.... a little frustrating at times but I'll take it.

So, I should be at my 00 before Halloween - just in time to bring on the Halloween Candy, Thanksgiving and Christmas......................... UGH!!!!! I love the Fall - I love the food!!!! What's a girl to do? :)

My new "hard" goal

This may not seem very hard to some of you, but it is really what I need, so here goes. From now till Christmas I am not going to get on the scale. I know that sounds counter productive, but I think it will really help me put my focus where it belongs. The really difficult part of my goal is that I am going to work out at LEAST 3 times a week from now until then. I keep making this goal and it keeps not happening for more than two weeks at a time. I am going to try a gym membership and see if the money out of my pocket will motivate me to keep going.
Wish me luck!

If you could post with where you are supposed to be I am rededicating...(yes...Again) and promise to do better. 15 lbs by Christmas better. I encourage you to set a hard goal as well and we will be sucessful.....oh yes, we will!!!

for not posting until now. I forgot to weigh in Monday and Yesterday. I will use my WW weigh in from Saturday. I am -.5 from what I have been working off of, but my number still needs to read +3. I haven't been completely honest with you or myself because I didn't want to swallow what I really was. Time to fess up. Hopefully things will turn around. I am determined for it to.

coming out of the shadows...

alright, if Darla is going to do it guess I will too. I'm +3 from the last time I reported (but actually down three from last week) I don't know what's going on...seems like the harder I try the worse I do.

Oh well...vacation/anniversary this week...then nose back to the grindstone!!

Hot Momma
I have a -2 for this last week.

Rex
Poppy is reporting +1. I have promised myself that it will be better, but I don't seem to keep my promises too well. I too have talked to my better half and we are going to work on this together. The time fame doesn't fit right now so I am just trying to be a little careful. However today is our 37th anniversary. I most likely will not start today!!!!!

In the right direction

A -1 for me this week. I am afraid I might be moving slow, but with my exercise goal met for last week and motivation still going well this week I hope at least I am in the right direction.
Good luck this week everyone!
Zody

This sucks!!!!

I wasn't going to do this because I really hate it but it is my own fault so I have to own up to it. (even though it makes me want to puke) I haven't reported for weeks sadly or this wouldn't sting quite so bad but I am affraid I have to report a +7!!!!! YUCK!!!!!!! I really don't know what is wrong with me. But Alfalfa and I had a long chat last night and we are going to get going with this better. I really don't have any excuses but lazyness. And I really didn't want to report this but I know I need some help and who better to help me than my club zero support system. So PLEASE Send my any of your ideas. Recipies or workout tips. I am soing to make this work because I can't live like this any more. I am going to start reporting my intake daily to help my control my eating habbits and today is the day that I am cleaning out all the crap out of my cupboards. Wish me luck this is the hardest part :) So I am here today to say PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Yippee....

-2 for me!! Finally something in the right direction.....now....off to girls camp.......................wait a minute...........................this isn't going to be good :)
-Cookie

I have not posted for a few weeks, I have been negligent in my reporting. I have been sticking to my diet and I need to post for the past 3 weeks. For the Week of July 6 thru July 12, I have a negative 4. For the week of July 13 thru July 19, I have another negative 4, and for the week of July 20 thru July 27, I have a negative 3.

Rex
I am happy to get to report a negative 2 for this week. I am really trying hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Wish me luck!!!

- Thunderbuns

Looks like we have all fallen off the planet!

I am usually the last one to post, and here I am the ONLY one. Well hopefully we can all do better. My new goals are to excersie 3 times a week. I know I have said this before, but after spending the weekend in my swimming suit, I am serious this time!! I have decided that the numbers is not my goal, but the working out is. (I am secretly hoping the numbers will follow) Good luck to everyone and LETS GET EACH OTHER GOING AGAIN!!

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

UH OH!!!!!! +2 for Thunderbuns. We had some family in town and I did not do well sticking to my diet. OOPS!!!!! Better luck this week. :)

Cookie after this weigh in I think my side bar numbers should read - 13 ..... thanks so much for all of your hard work!!!!

Monday, July 20, 2009

Posting another 0 for this week. Hopefully less stress will help out with the weight loss for this week.
-Razzle

It's been a while

I too have been vacationing - sort of (you all know the scale issues). However I get to claim a +1, which is great considering the lack of effort on my part. I am glad to be hovering at a lower number than at the first of the year, but I do need to get moving! I NEED to excercise. I am going to set a program and start TODAY! Weight or no weight I need to keep my body healthy. Wish me luck!
Zody

I didn't fall of the face of the planet....

I just went on a lot of vacations, (if you don't believe me, come check out my laundry room, it holds all the proof you would need!!) and I am a +3 which I don't think is too bad all things considered. I am also starting something new. I am not too sure whether to be excited about it or not since my motivation factor is a little in the toilet right now, but I have been roped into starting a 6 week challenge with my family. Kind of like the biggest loser, but also incorporating points for healthy eating and exercise. At the end of the 6 weeks the two big money prizes will be for most weight loss and also for most points. Money you say??? Yes, money. $20 bucks each, that may be the part I am the most bothered by.....I didn't sign up for this, and yet I can't not do it, sooooo.....maybe it will jump start my motivation???

Oh, and by the way, I tried to update the sidebar numbers, please let me know if I messed up, it was a little tricky to figure out where I left off since I disappeared for like a month. Thanks!

My Great NSV!!!

I did a Half Marathon!!!! Yes I say did because I didn't run the whole thing. I walked more than I wanted to, but it is a really hard course. I am still proud of myself for even doing it at all. In case some of you out there don't know, a half marathon is a little over 13 miles. It felt like 100 miles and my legs felt like they were full of lead close to the end. I was going to blog about this earler and w/pictures but I don't have them on this computer and we had to borrow Zach's parents camera since ours is broken.
ps. I didn't just post this because of Hot Mama's comment, I was going to do it anyway and just hadn't yet :)
pps if you want to see pictures, they will be up soon on my blog. It isn't private go feel free go check it out :)

Well this is the week!!!!!

I am so ready to start this week!!! Well you see we have family picutres coming up and I would like to be down a little before then. And I have a whole new plan for myself. But on the top of my list is to just simply smile. Smile every day an find something I love about myself. So I challenge everyone to do that this week :) I am down 1 lb this week but that is just a fluke because I really didn't do anything. But I am ready for a great week and I am really going to try every day to simply do the things I need to do and smile and find a reason I love myself every day!!! GOOD LUCK ALL!!!

Darla

NEW PROGRAM

I am reporting a -1 this week. I am however going to try something a little different and hope that it shows some effect. I realize that even though a few pounds have been leaving that my body needs some serious attention. SO a little different activity may for a while not be good as far as numbers go, but as I have said many times numbers on the scale do not tell the whole story. I just need to not feel so OLD. SO wish me luck!!!!!
Poppy

ok..

I am at at a 0 for the week. I am a little supprised since I did do a half marathon on Saturday, but I also couldn't stay full eather. I was a bottomless pit after my race :). I will do better this week :)
-Razzle

plesantly surprised

I'm down 2 lbs since the last time I posted here (had to check here...couldn't remember!) I'm surprised because my eating hasn't been good...but I will take it and work harder!!.

My goal this week...NO JUNK FOOD (meaning specifically...chips, candy, pop & fast food)!! I know...crazy...but I think I can do it :) and Water-o-rama!!

-Hot Momma

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Sorry

Well I have to say I am sorry because I kind of disapeared for a couple of weeks. I would like to say I was so busy working out and getting myself in shape that I just didn't have time to report. But you all know me better than that and I actually just fell of the wagon for a while. So today I am recomitting myself to this. I sadly weigh more than I ever have and it has seriously started to make me very sad. So I am going to start again and hopefully get myself going this time. Thanks for all the support I am sure I will need it.

I have found the miracle diet!!!! Ice cream, Feel better soup and puffy Cheetos!!!!! After a week of healing I get to report a -2. Oral Surgery Weight Lose Program

Yes I am posting a -4 this week. However I am sure that is is not earned because oral surgery is the reason. Clear liquids do not add pounds. I have found the PERFECT way to lose pounds quickly. However, clear liquids and soft foods are not something that I hope to make a life style out of. I will claim it for one week only. Because I need the emotional boost - WAHOOO!!!!!

Thunderbuns is weighing in at a +1 :( SOOOOO Sad - but I will say that I am very dedicated to my workouts and that is helping me feel better - I just wish the scale would reflect how hard I work out. I know that it is the eating part that is holding me back - I'm just going to keep on trying. :)

Well I got to the scale this week and joy of joy it is negative. It's only -1 and it has been about a month, but I will still celebrate because it has been a roller coaster. My NSV

My NSV for this week was I ran my yearly 5k race today, it was fun and I hardly had to stop to walk just a couple of times. My time was 34 min. Better than last year.

I will also be out of town next week so I will not be able to weigh in on Monday so I will just take a 0 for next week.

Good luck to everyone this next week!!!

sorry...couldn't think of a title...I'm down .5 this week. I was a little surprised, but I'll take it. I also vow to drink my water each day and exercise at least 3 days this week.

-hot momma
Reporting a -1.5 for the week. It would have been more I think but we went to a Greek BBQ this weekend. Those Greeks know how to eat :) I didn't go overboard even though there was an endless amount of food and treats (at least I don't think so).
-Razzle

Weighing In!!

Shockingly I have a -1 for the week, we had 2 family parties this weekend, with endless and endless of yummy food, but I did not go over board, and I even had a little bit of a treat both parties, just not the whole pan like I would normally do. ya me!!

Keep up the good work everyone and good luck!!

The biggest Loser
I am weighing in today with a 0 gain 0 loss. I actually am quite pleased with that - we had some fun things over the weekend all involving yummy food. Good luck to you all!!!

- Thunderbuns

Not bad for a wild week

I don't feel like I sat down this week, and I have been fighting a cold, and I am reporting a zero. I don't think it is too bad. I am content with it for now. And I am Cookie. (maybe one of these days I will remember to sign my posts!)

I'm still here

Sorry it has been a couple of weeks. My scale doesn't live at my house (it keeps me less obsessed), but it sure makes it hard when I don't get to the scale each week. My daughter got sick and so we banished ourselves from the home of the scale (to avoid getting anyone else sick Darla and Hot Momma's babies especially) So anyway, no numbers to report, but I am still working on making good choices. A small NSV I was able to get a run in the other day and went further than ever - so I think I am making some slow progress. Maybe I can get to post some great numbers after being off the scale for a few weeks! Here's to hopin'
Zody

Just Me!!

Sorry it is wednesday and I am finally getting this posted. If it makes anyone feel better I was doing it monday and the power went out and then I forgot till now :) I am the same again. I guess it is better than + but I really would like to see some good -. Maybe some day :)
Darla

A different kind of challenge...

I've noticed the comments seem to be dropping off...let's support each other more by trying to leave more comments. I know they help me (and make me feel loved :-) They don't have to be long and drawn out...but a "way to go" or a "hang in there" can help a lot I think.

-Hot momma

OOPS

Sorry it is now Wednesday evening and I am just posting. Many of you know what kind of day I had at work Monday so bear with me that I forgot to post my -1 for the week. ALFALFA
This is Rex I have a +1 for the week. Hopefully better luck next week.

Just Keep Swimming

This week I should have waited until Tuesday to weigh in. If it is real, I will be happy to post next Monday. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.:)
Poppy

A weigh in and a soap box

So I get to report a -1 for the week, which is better than zero, but still seems to be part of the 3 lbs that I keep gaining and losing. As frustrated as I could get by this (because my goal has not been weight maintenance) I am actually relatively excited. Creating Club Zero happened at a point in my life when the scale was headed up at a drastic pace. I had gained about 20 lbs in a matter of just over a year. It was a problem (still is since I haven't lost it!) but I had this whole moment of realization yesterday as I weighed in. From the beginning of the year till now, my weight gain has stopped!!!! That is wonderful news to me. If all that I accomplish by being a member of Club Zero is getting my weight to level out and stay put, that IS success. Now I am not saying I am quitting the quest to lose weight because I still would like to take off what I put on in that "year of the slowing metabolism" (which I have dubbed it.....I certainly DID NOT gain all that weight by eating cookies and cake and such.....) but I just realized that regardless of weather maintenance was my goal or just what has happened, in and of itself it is a success. I am glad that 20 lbs heavier or not, I am comfortable in my skin, and I think ultimately that is the most important thing of all. And now I will step off my soap box....Thank you!

Keep on trecking!!

OK, I would like to report -1 for this week, I like thunderbuns has got the exercising down pat, but the eating habit is well not there. That is my goal this week to eat better. Better luck next week.

good luck everyone!!

The Biggest Loser

Yippee!!

Down 3 for me :) that almost puts me back to zero...lol!! (for the record...I did weigh in last week after my mini vacation...I was at a +/- 0...I just kept forgetting to post)

-Hot Momma :)

Almost There

Another -1.5 this week. Almost to where I quit weighing in. Thyroid must be working again. Next week I should be down to where I was. Then we can start counting again. The Move More has been made easier by the fact that we are swimming again. Those of you who know me say that we swim very little:(, probably fact:). However it really is great to float around on a noodle and kick your feet a little and releave TONS of stress. I love this form of excersise!!!!!

Asking for a favor

We went camping this weekend and it is really hard to watch you calorie intake when you are limited on the food you can eat. I would appreaciate a bie this week and not count my weigh in. That wouod be amazing.
-Razzle

Ok, since reading the 2 comments, I guess I will fess up to my +2 for the week.

UGH!!!!

So Thunderbuns has lost another pound. I would love to loose more than that. I think I'm going to have to switch up my eating plan. I do great at exercising - but I do not watch what I eat very carefully. So I'm pretty sure that is what is slowing me down. I would love to loose 2 pounds a week!!! :) Good luck everyone!!!!!!

Dang them holiday weekends!!!!

Sorry I am soo late on reporting in, we went out of town this weekend, so I was not home on monday morning. I am reporting a 0 this week. I have got to get control of my weekend eating. Yikes!! Better luck next week!

I will report in. I am still losing the quick weight gain from the thyroid explosion. 2 pounds this week but still not down to where I was when I quit reporting. Another few pounds and they will count Cookie, but not for now. Considering all I did was not worry about weighing, it tells me two things, one it was my thyroid and second stress about weight is not worth the effort!!!! Eat right and move a little more and things work out.

Doing OK

Just here to report a -2 for the week. WAHOO!!! I am hoping it keeps going down. I didn't really exersize except I must have burried some pounds in the garden along with all the vegies:) Wherever it went I am happy it is gone.
Darla

Me too

I am also reporting a +1 for the week....I haven't been working out every morning like I was and I find that doesn't help me want to eat well. I have been working outside enough though that a whole new group of muscles is screaming at me to stop, so I guess I can count that for something. -Cookie

My turn

Worked every day this week + Exercised once + Partook freely of the holiday festivities= a plus 1 for me this week. Oh well, having fun with family and eating some really good food at the same time was totally worth the 16 oz. Happy Memorial Day everyone. ALFALFA
Thunder Buns is reporting a -1 for this week and Rex is reporting a 0. I am going to think positive. 1 is not a lot but if I continue to loose 1 pound a week after 20 weeks that adds up!!! :) Good luck to everyone and Happy Memorial Day!!!!
I am reporting a -.5 for the week. I guess it is a good time to start at 0 :) Hope everyone has a great holiday

NSV celebration

I am so excited! Today I wore some carpi's that about a month ago when we went to St. George wouldn't even button up. I have been wearing them all day. To the zoo, visiting teaching and they are still comfortable! YEAH!!! I know my new shirt that is loose around the middle helps, but nothing is better than wearing your skinny pants!

P.S. Cookie my sidebar number is 2 pounds lower than it should be.

Sometimes You Just Gotta Laugh.....

So I just needed to laugh a little about my weight loss adventures..... most of all because sometimes that is just all you can do. This posting might be a little embarrassing for you male club zero members so you can read.......... IF YOU DARE!!!!

Here is a little something to make you laugh. Yesterday I went to my favorite spot to run, Beaver Lake Trail. It is absolutely gorgeous. It is a trail that goes right through the jungle we have here in Alabama and it really is so pretty. Let me start out this story letting you know that I purchased a wonderful new sports bra that zips right up the front. I thought to myself, "zip up the front????" But just as quickly as that thought came to me I could literally picture myself twisting and contorting my body to get into my other sports bra so I think to myself this might be great!!!!

Anyway - Back to Beaver Trail. I am having a great time running it is a beautiful day and I'm loving that I escaped my house full of one million kids. All of a sudden I am struck by a gust of wind...... or so I think......... Not used to my new zip up nifty sports bra I'm thinking to myself, "My goodness something feels a little different." You would think that I would have stopped to investigate the problem - nope - I'm in the zone. Finally I go to adjust the wires to my IPod and realize my zipper is unzipped - yep all the way unzipped. So what is a girl to do??? I quickly weigh my options. #1 hurry and zip it up and hope hope hope no one sees me or #2 step off the trail into the woods filled with poisonous snakes and armadillos just to ensure no one sees me..... I opted for choice #1!!!

So I'm thinking that sometimes amidst this quest to healthiness you just have to laugh a little and realize - it's gotta be fun sometimes - sometimes things work just like you want them too and sometimes they don't. Sometimes your bra stays zipped sometimes it doesn't..... but it's all ok!!!! :)

-ThunderBuns
***Disclaimer*** Darla was worried I may not have had another shirt on and let me just tell you..... OF COURSE I DID!!!! I am a modest runner :)

Cookie's late report.

0. Not too bad for an oreo snack attack, and a trip to Utah (including a #6 at Wendy's on the way...how I love me a spicy chicken with fries and rootbeer) and more macaroni shrimp salad than I care to admit. I really haven't fallen off the bandwagon, I just took a small detour!!

Sorry so late

I tried to stay off my computer yesterday in hopes of finally getting some housework done, but forgot to check in.
I get a -2 for this week. The excercising is going better. It always feels so good afterwards, it's strange that it takes so much motivation to get out the door. I have noticed a real lag in my water intake, so that is my "diet" focus for the week. Yeah for the negetive!

YIKES!!!!

Not a good week for me +1 for last week, but this week Brian and I started P90X this morning, whoa am I going to be sore, so this week better be better than last!!

The Biggest Loser
I have a -3 to post for this week. I would be more excited if it wasn't the same three pounds that I gained last week. Oh well, I hope everyone is doing awesome, good luck this week!

Back to Work

Things are getting better here. It usually takes about 3 or 4 weeks for my thyroid to get back to normal, but no weight gain this week so we will go back to work and see if the negative can kick in. However it is just good to FEEL BETTER. So I will claim a zero but boast about feeling better!!!!!

Poppy
Down 2 for me this week...and I had a huge NSV...I was wanting a cool treat when I left town this afternoon...and I actually had a toll house cookie ice cream sandwich in my hand and PUT IT DOWN and picked up a Dryers stawberry all fruit frozen bar instead (these really are my favorite!!) 120 calories 0 fat cooled me off and was SOOO yummy :)

-Hot momma
I'm kinda disappointed with my - 1 this week. My body is being EXTREMELY stubborn. Oh well, I am going to keep plugging away working just as hard. I do feel like I am making progress though - I'm running faster and longer and that makes me happy!!! Good luck to everyone!!!

- Thunderbuns
It seems like no one wants to post today :) I am reporting a 0 for the week. It is really frustrating because I am not trying to matain. I have been going to a nutritionist, and she told me what my ideal weight could be. it is about 10lbs from where I am at now. The last time I went to her, however I had lost an inch and a half from my hip mesurment and an inch from my waist. I guess it is the inches that really count. The weight will come off in time :)
-Razzle

Lets get started!!!

Well Alfalfa and Darla had a much better week this week. We both got to go out and get some exersize. Darla is reporting a -2 and Alfalfa is reporting a -3 WAHOO!!!! MUCH BETTER!!! We both really feel like we are going to start a new trend in a negative direction :)
Darla and Alfalfa

PS This is Alfalfa now, I just had to add a thought on to our post for the week. Sorry to those of you who were looking forward to pictures of me eating my gallon of ice cream and Double Stuff Oreos, but I think I figured out why I wasn't losing weight until this past week even though I was exercising.
There was alot of debate this past week about whether it was better to eat when you are hungry or to eat regular meals. For me now the answer is emphatically eating regular meals. The first two weeks I started to exercise regularly, I was also skipping breakfast most of those days. I would drink alot of water thinking I could fool my body into thinking it was full. So instead of seeing the benefits of my exercise my body went into protective mode and I gained a pound in those two weeks.
This past week the ONLY thing I did differently then the previous two weeks was I ate breakfast every morning (along with lunch and dinner) and I lost 3 pounds. I am totally convinced now about the importance of not starving yourself to diet and for me to eat three regular meals a day. Sorry to be so long-winded but it has helped me to learn this and maybe it can help someone else too.

Just some tips

We found this and I thought it was some great ideas. I hope you all like it.
1. Evaluate your eating habits. Are you eating late at night, nibbling while cooking, finishing the kids' meals? Take a look around, and it will be easy to identify a few behaviors you can change that will add up to big calorie savings.
2. If you fail to plan, plan to fail. You need a strategy for your meals and snacks. Pack healthful snacks for the times of day that you know you are typically hungry and can easily stray from your eating plan.
3. Always shop with a full belly. It's a recipe for disaster to go into the grocery store when you are hungry. Shop from a prepared list so impulse buying is kept to a minimum. Eating right starts with stocking healthy food in your pantry and refrigerator.
4. Eat regular meals. Figure out the frequency of your meals that works best in your life and stick to it. Regular meals help prevent bingeing.
5. Eat your food sitting down at a table, and from a plate. Food eaten out of packages and while standing is forgettable. You can wind up eating lots more than if you sit down and consciously enjoy your meals.
6. Serve food onto individual plates, and leave the extras back at the stove. Bowls of food on the table beg to be eaten, and it takes incredible will power not to dig in for seconds. Remember, it takes about 20 minutes for your mind to get the signal from your belly that you are full.
7. Eat slowly, chew every bite, and savor the taste of the food. Try resting your fork between bites and drinking plenty of water with your meals.
8. Don't eat after dinner. This is where lots of folks pack on the extra pounds. If you are hungry, try satisfying your urge with a non-caloric beverage or a piece of hard candy. Brushing your teeth after dinner helps reduce the temptation to eat again.
9. If you snack during the day, treat the snack like a mini-meal. The most nutritious snacks contain complex carbohydrates and a small amount of protein and fat.
10. Start your day with breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day. After a long night's rest, your body needs the fuel to get your metabolism going and give you energy for the rest of the day.

Accountability

I know I am late with weigh in, but frustration set in. I know my week wasn't great, but it wasn't +4 bad!!! Crazy I know, but I am going to throw my focus in another direction. I have decided to run a 10k. It's a step up from my 5k last year and should help me focus on exercise more. Hopefully the rest will take care of itself. I will take the +4, but watch out I am getting serious!
Zody

I need advice...

So, yesterday I had a horrible day (calorie intake wise) really my day wasn't bad just my eating. I decided to just shrug it off as a bad day and start again today. Well, my morning got busy and then I went and got my hair done, and then went to speech and then it was dinner time and I realized I hadn't eaten at all yet today. And I really wasn't that hungry, but knew I obviously needed to eat something. So I had dinner and am just wondering if that is normal, like, do calories hang in there, filling you up even the next day?? Or was I just crazy or too busy to notice if I was hungry???
-a very confused Cookie who has never not been hungry unless sick.

I don't feel so bad now...

I guess most of us had the same type of week. I worked hard again this past week and although I didn't lose anything, I didn't gain anything either. I am still kind of frustrated about the whole thing, but here are a couple of things that have helped me.
I didn't take any measurements like Thunderbuns did, but I do feel a difference in how my clothes are fitting me so hopefully that will continue.
The exercise has helped me have more energy for the day, and my stamina while I am exercising is increasing. (I could maybe even finish a 1K now ;) ).
A fellow Club Zero member told me their doctor mentioned that sometimes when a person starts an exercise regimen it takes several weeks for the weight loss to follow. I sure hope this is true because if I work this hard again for a third straight week and don't see some results on the scale I may just curl up in the fetal position with a gallon of ice cream and some Double Stuff Oreos and eat/cry myself to sleep :)
I hope we all continue to work hard again this week. Healthy first, skinny later. ALFALFA
With my new work schedule I have been able to work out twice a day, but for some reason my body is just as stubborn as I am and I gained 3 pounds. I have cut back on calories so I really shouldn't have a plus three, but with all the extra workouts I have been drinking tons of water. I sure hope it's water weight. Oh well, maybe next week I will show a decrease instead of an increase.

Rex

Finally!!!

So, I have had something snap inside of me, and that superglue I have needed to make the motivation stick seems to have come. (I am hoping it stays around a while!!) After weeks and weeks of positive reports or 0's I get to report a -2. 24 points per day(with a few exceptions) and working out 5 days a week for 30-60 minutes is finally paying off.....yeah!!!
-Cookie

Please No Weigh today.

I hope everyone will be patient with me. Thyroid medicine has been changed and in a couple of weeks things should be backe to normal. (I hope better) So I am begging a no weigh week. Next week we will try again. Thanks for being considerate of the OLD person!!!!!

Poppy

Well...

I tried to be good. I didn't exersize as much as I should but I still stayed with in my calorie intake most of the days. I am at a +1 for the week. I am not excited about that at all :(
-Razzle

I guess I am glad it isn't only me :(

I am seriously wondering what the heck is wrong with me too. I am a +4 ARRRRRGGGGGG!!! It is so frustrating. I didn't work out as much as Alfalfa this week but I did work out and it seems to make the scale go the wrong way. Well I guess I just have to work a little harder at my eating habits and not be so stressed out all the time. Better luck to everyone else.
Darla

Seriously...what is wrong with me

I didn't really expect a loss this week and feared a gain (starting saturday, I could feel my ankles and hands were way swollen) along with other things going on...I really feel I am still having post baby issues, but seriously, I gained 6 lbs this week!!! No wonder I've been feeling like crap. Oh well...just keep plugging along I guess. (why did I go back to ZERO so soon!!!!!!!)

I guess on the good side my son had the "best birthday ever" and I had a fabulous mother's day, and my arms and face got a little sun this week!!

-hot momma (who really just feels squishy and puffy)
So this week I'm in Alfalfa's shoes. Worked my tail off and am seeing a 0 this week. UGH!!!!! I did take my measurements last week and I lost an inch off my thighs. So .... I guess that is good. I don't know why this happened - very frustrating. Oh well........ better luck this week.

I just have been computerless for like a week. I am reporting a zero. Oh well, maybe next week. I have been trying really hard this week with WW points and daily workouts, and it is Thursday and I am still on track, so hopefully on Monday I will have good progress to report.

Thyriod Mania

I guess that I am glad to know that there might be a reason for no weight loss when I have really been trying. Last week my thyroid doctor said that he thought a lot of the things that were going on were because my thyroid was out of wack. In ways I hope and in other I hope not. I really don't want to go down that road again. But for now until we find out for sure I hope to be able to just stay even. So don't count me out. I will return better than before. This week I claim a 0.

Poppy

@#&$^%!

Well more profanity from the Little Rascalls this week :) And I exersized this week too. Alfalfa was so nice and let me go for a walk a few times this week. But unfortunatley I am a +2 this week. I am going to make some changes this week and hopefully it all works out for both of us and you won't have to see any more profanity from us :)

Darla

Monday, May 4, 2009

Wahoo!

I get a -3 this week. It actually counts for two. I didn't get a chance to weigh in last week. We had just come back from vacation and I couldn't get to the scale. (it's currently at Poppy's house until I get my own). I am excited and feel like I have turned a corner in my attitude toward food and excercise. I WANT to eat right and exercise, amazing I know! I may turn back and any time, so I will enjoy it while it lasts! We will keep hoping for good numbers, but I am trying to not focus on those too much.
Fogarty hasn't weighed in for a while. I'm working on him;)
Zody

@&%!!#*#@!

This past week made me so frustrated. Throughout this entire journey on weeks when I gained weight or didn't lose any there was always something I knew I did or could have done better: didn't exercise, ate out several times, snacked too much, etc. This week there was none of that. I really tried to watch what I ate, and by Thursday I had exercised 4 times. (I have started running/walking a few miles for an exercise routine.)
So Friday I decided to get an early look at the scale because I felt I had been really good and I wanted to see a good number. So I step on the scale and I had gained 4 FREAKING POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Total frustration set in.
I didn't exercise Friday or Saturday because of bad weather and work plus I went to a family party Saturday night and a baby blessing/dinner on Sunday. Needless to say I was not looking forward to the scale today. I tried to be good at the parties, but without any exercise I figured the number would not be good.
So today I get on the scale and I had lost 3 of those 4 pounds. So you tell me... should I be excited about only gaining 1 pound, or frustrated about gaining 4 pounds when I work out, and losing 3 when I don't do anything? Right now I am completely confused and wonder if there is something I need to do differently or if I just chalk it up to one of those weeks. I am open to all advice fellow Club Zero members. My +1 WILL NOT be there next week. ALFALFA

PS- Darla forgot to weigh in this morning and will post tomorrow.
I would love to report a -2 this week, which really surprises me! I had a crappy eat for all this weekend. I have got to get control of my weekends!!

The Biggest Loser
So Thunderbuns is at a 0 this week. With some minor health issues making workouts almost impossible I am actually glad that I did not gain anything. So hopefully soon I will be back to my old self and able to keep up what I started.

PS ---- Hot Mama this is your new theme song.........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgj5PyVw_gc Just please don't do your hair like hers.......... atleast not while I'm not there to see your mothers reaction. :O)

new week new attitude...

anyone else ALWAYS have the drive to be better on monday just to lose it by oh...Wednesday :) Well this week I'm going to try to have that drive all week...I'm going to drown myself in water, cut down on the junk, up my veggie/fruit intake, and exercise more (oh and motivate myself on tuesday by watching the biggest loser :) oh...and I'm down 1 lb this week :)

-hot momma

Guess I'll be the first

I am reporting a 0 for the week. I had a bad weekend with a wedding, a friends birthday, and a baby blessing. It is harder to control your calorie intake with a weekend like that :) Things will look up for next week.

Monday, April 27, 2009

Just me again :(

Well I get to report a big fat 0 this week. I guess it is better than + but not exactly what I wanted :( O-Well I am hoping for a better week this week. I am feeling better inside and out it seems. (well for today) And on days I do feel like a human is when I feel like I can actually do this and make myself feel good about myself too. So that is my goal this week. I want to find one thing every day that makes me feel good about myself and if I can do that hopefully I will be able to get moving and lose some numbers this week. If not maybe I will feel good by the end of the week still :)

Darla

Monday

I am happy to report a -4 for the week. I tried to be better with not snacking too much and I was able to get out and exercise a few times this week. So my goals are the same for this week, and I hope to continue to see negative numbers now. ALFALFA

Weigh in for Monday

OK, I am reporting a 0 this week, which for my weekend is really good that I did not gain 10 pounds, I had a girls weekend in Logan, and woa did I eat and eat and eat. And then I have a stupid cold so I was not able to workout this morning, So I will totally take the 0 for this week!!

Good luck to everyone!

The Biggest Loser

For Hot Mama

Hot Mama asked if I would spill the beans on what the personal trainer has taught me . So here is what I have been told.

#1 thing that I am learning is how to eat properly. So here is how I eat. I eat every morning within an hour of waking up. I never go over 4 hours without eating something. Sometimes I am not really hungry but I make myself eat anyway. I eat a balanced clean diet of 40 percent protein 30 percent whole grains and 30 percent veggies. I eat a fruit as one of my snacks. I eat 3 square meals a day but never eat after 9:00 at night. I take a multivitamin everyday and a fish oil capsule 3 times a day with my meals. You can never get enough of your omega 3's with just diet alone. (So I've heard) Anyway the most important thing is that I eat every bit of my calorie allotment every day. I do not starve at all. I have had the mistaken understanding in the past that starving yourself will make you skinny. NOT TRUE -- all I have seen is a minimal weight loss but most of all you feel like !@#$&. So no more of that for me EVER! I want something that I can maintain not something that will cause me to be sick.

#2 is my exercise. I actually only work out for 30 - 40 minutes a day. Mon, Wed, Fri I do cardio. Right now I'm doing interval training. For example 1 minute of running in a sprint and 2 minutes of recovery. There are a million things you can do. Tues, Thurs, and Sat I lift weights. I start in at the gym on the eliptical to warm up for about 10 minutes and then head over to the weight machines. I do one machine after another with no rest in between. It gets your heart rate up there and it is building muscle at the same time. That cycle lasts for 20 minutes and then I'm done. If you can't get to the gym you could buy some free weights along with some other equipment and do circuit training at home. For those of you who have new babies and can't get away.

I have noticed a HUGE impact on the way I feel which is what matters most to me. I feel healthier everyday and am surprised at how quickly I am able to build my endurance. It has been wonderful.

So now I don't the need my trainer with me at my workouts until I plateau and need a different routine. It was worth being uncomfortable around Mr. Fitness to learn the things that I need to do.

I just hope that all of us look at this as a way to get healthy!!!! There is a difference between being healthy and being skinny. I look around at many women who go beyond that point and wonder how long they can keep it up without paying a price with their overall health. When you are healthy you will have a healthy glow to you and then there is a point when you can go too far and loose that glow all together. So my goal is that the next time we all see eachother I am glowing - glowing - glowing!!!! :O) I hope you are all glowing too!!!! I know you will be!

Sorry this is like 25 pages long :O) -- Yikes!!!

- Thunderbuns

time to own it :(

Well...I seem to have lost 5 of the 8 lbs I gained last week...guess that puts me at a +3 this week. I said I'd own it and I will (even though I so don't want to) Guess it will just make me more determined to work hard this week and get back to 0...sigh...

-hot momma

Why can't I stay serious.....

for more that a few days. +1 for me. I need some sort of super glue here to make the motivation stick!!
-Cookie

Guess something is working

I am way excited to report a -4.5 for the week. Changing my exercise routine and watching my calorie intake has helped a lot. I will see in the next few weeks if it continues to help :)
-Razzle
I have a -2 for the week, running every other day seems to be working pretty well.

Rex.

And Thunderbuns is reporting a -4. I guess getting off my bum and doing something does work :). Why did I not just do this a long time ago??? :) Good luck everyone!!!!!!

16 Weeks

I had a thought this morning. I wanted to go back to January 1 and see how many weeks it has been from then to now ...... the answer is about 16!!!!! I remember thinking that I was going to do my very best to get healthy this year. It was more than a New Years resolution - it was something that I really needed to do for myself to feel good. I now realize that had I really done everything required of me to achieve that goal I would probably be at my healthy goal weight right this minute. UGH!!!!!!

So I am looking at this in an entire new light. Time will go by whether I like it or not and I can either achieve my goals or keep repeating the never ending cycle. This is also true for soooo many other things as well. This really has hit home with me. You will definitely see a more motivated girl from now on.

I truly do believe that it is really not the numbers on the scale but becoming your best HEALTHY self. I just want to feel good about myself, to feel the energy that comes when you live a healthy lifestyle. I'm actually excited!!!

Workout Wednesday

So I am going to do something a little different today. I want to know what you are CURRENTLY doing for excercise. Do you like it, is it working, and would you recommend it? If you are currently without excercise, this is the day to come up with a plan, and share that with us. Comment to let us know!!

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

I have a -1 for the week. It's not impressive, but I'll take it. I need to kick it up a notch.

Rex

OOPS

Sorry this is late. Plus 2 for me this week:( I will do better. ALFALFA

Yummy New Snack

I don't know if any of the rest of you love chips and dip like me.......... but I sure do love them! I have found a new healthy alternative. I buy Baked Doritos and dip them in low fat cottage cheese. Sounds a little strange but it really is yummy!!!!! Just thought I would share.

Thunderbuns

Not bad for a birthday week

I am down 1. Shocked, because I wasn't very diligent, but down one anyways.

Up Again :(

I really am so sick of reporting my yo-yo world. I am +1 again this week :( I know what I need to do I just need to do it. But why is it so freaking hard!!!! I need some inspiration. I love whoever put up the NSV's I think that is a great idea. So My goals for the week are to actually exersize at least 4 times. And I am going to get rid of all the Easter candy that is lingering through my house so I don't snack on it all the time. Wish me luck :) I am going to be negative next week and hopefully alot.
Darla
Hey Cookie -- I was reading Zody's weigh in post and I have decided along with her not to count any fractions of pounds . So if you don't mind will you remove my .7. I think I'll go with whole numbers from now on. Thanks so much!!!

Thunderbuns

Checking in

Well...again another 0 for this week. There are going to be a lot of changes in the next few weeks so we will see :)
-Razzle

accountable but not counting

Well, I weighed in this morning, and I had gained 8 pounds since last week...I don't think that's really possible...well it is, but it's not real weight. And judging from the fact that I can't get my rings off AT ALL this morning...I think I'm having some kind of post baby/body trying to get back to normal water retention issue!!

So...if it's o.k. w/ everyone...I'm going to ask cookie NOT to record this weigh in and I'll kick up the water intake and hope to be back to normal next week or better yet tomorrow!!!! (if I'm not...then I'll own the gain...but I really can't take that +8 by my name right now!!)

-(not so) Hot Momma :)
Thunderbuns is reporting in today with a -1. I am not really happy with that number but I know that I did not work hard enough to achieve a larger number. This week I am going to work as hard as I can. :)

Reporting In!!

I would like to report a -1 this week, not what I had hoped for but, this weekend was not a good eating weekend for me. :( I do soo good during the week and then the weekend comes. yikes. I hope to do better next week.

good luck to everyone this week

The Biggest Loser

The decimal

I think I might start tracking my decimal numbers. I have to report a 1 pound gain, but it is really only a .5 gain. However since I haven't claimed them before, I won't start now. Workouts went OK last week. I am just going to keep plugging away with them and hope I can be more conscious of making good choices.

My NSV

I was so proud of myself today. Not only did I get my rear in gear and actually work out, but my usual running was easier today. By the time I get to a certain house, I am usually ready to turn around, not only time wise, but energy as well. Last week I had to walk for a good portion of the time - today I added an extra 0.6 miles and still stayed within my 30 minutes. WOW! I was excited and hope I continue to improve.
Zody

My Crazy NSV

Ok I know this sounds bad but it really is the little victories that have me happy latley. First off My kids are MUCH better today so that in itself is a victory!! But the girls wanted to have a movie night tonight and the only popcorn I had was 2 packages of Jiffy Pop. So I thought I would make that for them. I thought it would be way fun. Well has anyone out there made Jiffy Pop. Holy cow my arm was burning towards the end of the shaking :) Maybe that makes me a wimp but if you want a great arm workout just buy yourself some Jiffy Pop and have at it. And at the end of the workout your kids have a great snack.

Darla

No Cookies

My NSV for today is that I had to make Choc. Chip Cookies and ginger snaps for an emergency prepardness fair tonight and I ate none of the dough before it was baked (the best way to eat cookies by my standards) And I ate only one ginger snap after they were baked!!! The rest are still sitting on my cabinet waiting to be consumed by someone else. Also I forgot to check in with my weigh in this week. I'll report a -2. Not too bad considering Easter.

Poppy

My NSV

Ok, if your familiar with the walking trail by the rex plex in Morgan. Today I ran the length of the trail, starting at the bridge by the park and running around the whole trail, and ending back by the bridge at the park. Then I continued to walk the rest of the way to my house. That might not seem far but, for someone one hates to run!! That was great for me.

So that is my NSV for today!! Good luck to everyone else on their NSV's

Sorry so late

Since I am posting so late I will celebrate a NSV with you as well as my numbers.
I have worked out 3 times (hard) last week and am on my way to the same for this week. I have finally gotten over the soreness from those beginning workouts and surprisingly I am enjoying a good sweat.
It probably helped that I get to claim a -5!!! I am not sure how that happened, but since I have owned every gain, I will own this one too and just hope it can stay there for more that one week.
Thanks for the inspration everyone.
Zody
P.S. I don't think Fogarty weighed in this week. I will get after him:)

Non-Scale Victories

On a previous weight loss site I used to post on, the had these things called Non-Scale Victories (or NSVs) The point being that sometimes we get too focued on what the scale says and get discouraged and give up.

So inbetween weigh-ins we shared NSVs things like making good food choices, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or fitting into a pair of pants that we hadn't tried on for awhile, drinking enough water...anything that made us feel victorious along the way.

I thought maybe we could do the same thing here. We all need some positive reinforcement, and sometimes seeing the good things others do inspires us to try them too...so who's with me?

For a few days I'm going to post a NSV post of the day and want EVERYONE to search for something to post that they were successful with that day. We'll see how it goes and I'll either keep up the Daily or we'll just do it occasionally.

So...post something for today (or something from the last few days) and look for something each day and let us know!!

Workout Wednesday

So for today's workout......dust off an old workout video, and get it done. They are surprisingly good workouts. Let us know in the comments which one you did, and if you liked it!!

Blah...

I agree with an earlier post from Hot Momma....why is it so hard to lose a pound or two, but you can gain 5 in the bat of an eye. I have to admit however to lots of cheating this weekend. My friends took me out for a birthday dinner. I was not eating some celery and a large glass of water. (FYI, I love TGIFriday's green bean fries!!) So it is +2 for me this week, and considering my birthday is this Thursday I have no doubt that next week will probably fare the same. (and I too got attacked by the vicious bunny on the run!!)

I'll take it!

Well...this may be stretching things...but I'm down .5 this week...I'll go with that :)
-Hot Momma
Rex, has been naughty. I know that it's been a few weeks since my last weigh in. I've been busy working and hanging out on Facebook. I regret to report a +2 for the past couple weeks. Alfalfa, I hope you track down the easter bunny, and tell him thank you for the delicious goodies. Maybe next year when he shows up, I'll be at my goal weight and I will not feel so guilty for eating all the chocolate coated candy.

Be On the Lookout

Attention all Club Zero members; please be on the lookout for a large rabbit going by the name of the Easter Bunny. He spent the last week very near our home delivering treats to our kids and encouraging their grandparents to give them candy by the dumptruck load. This innocent looking bunny is known to be armed with Cadbury Mini Eggs and considered to be delicious. He deposited this candy at our house which in turn deposited itself on me as a +1 for the week. If captured please tell him to return to my house and pick up all this candy before I have to eat any more. Good luck this week everyone. ALFALFA

Up I go AGAIN!!!

Yikes!! Well I guess it isn't horrible I am only +1 this week. That dang easter candy ;)

Darla
I am also joining razzle and thunderbuns with a 0 this week, I'm just glad that it was not a gain, with being off work and with the holiday!!! So this week I really need to work harder!

Good luck everyone!!

The Biggest Loser
I am joining Razzle in the 0 weight loss. BUT I am looking it as a positive because yesterday was Easter and the day before that was the day before Easter and soooooooo amidst the many yummy treats I managed to stay the same. :O)

well...

I have to report a 0 for this week. This isn't how I wanted things, but I guess I will just have to work harder for next week.

decision made...

I'm going to zero out....it's not fair for me to show such a weightloss when others have worked so hard to get theirs (not that having a baby isn't hard...but you know what I mean)...besides I never want to see those 15 lbs again and I don't want them to give me a cushion on here...so today I am "0" and will work hard to not see a + (can you fix that for me cookie)

Still Zero.....

A little frustrating, but I won't let it get me down. I worked out 4 days last week and feel really good about it. I just have to be better at remembering to watch what goes in the tank. I could use some tips Biggest Loser. You are amazing!!
-Cookie
I'm just curious.... How did everyones pictures go?

reporting In!!

OK, I guess 2 is my lucky number. I would like to report a -2 pound weight loss for this week. I'm so excited about the challenge. It will be fun!!

Good luck to everyone!!! :)

The biggest Loser

Yo Yo

Well I am happy to report a -3 for this past week. (They were the three pounds I gained during our vacation.) I was hoping for one more pound so I could make it back to double digits, but the challenge will help me get there. I hope it works well for all of us no matter who wins. I have a goal number in mind for when we head to Yellowstone at the end of June and this challenge is just what I need to get me there. Good luck to everyone. ALFALFA

PS- I hope all of you in the challenge took before shots that look like those infomercial pictures or magazine ads where the person stands there with their shoulders hunched and no smile on their face. Then when we take our after shots it will be summer and we will all be tan and look spectacular.

Just a note on the Challenge

I was just thinking about this challenge. We need to set a few rules!! Rule #1 NO FAD DIETS!!! for example no pills, no liquid diets, no atkins, no clense diets. You can only use healthy dieting methods. For example weight watchers, south beach, eat less move more. Rule #2 Take your before and after picture in regular clothes but it has to be a full body shot front and back. I can't think of any more rules right now but if we think of them we will let you know by the end of today.
Darla and Thunderbuns :D

We're back!

No excuses, but if you have been wondering we have had scale issues (along with others). We are ready to be accountable again and have to both report gains. See what happens when you don't have to be accountable. Zody +3 and Fogarty is a+6. We are both joining the challenge and are excited to find motivation again!
Thanks club zero for keeping us here!
Zody
On a positive note we are both glad with all the crazy of our lives that we are still in the negetive. I think we have focused too much on getting negetive and not enough on the achivement it is to still be here since January. Way to go everyone!

:D

I am happy to finally report a loss today!!!!!! I get to report a -3!!! WAHOO!!!!! I am so excited this challenge has brought me back to life. (I hope ) I really think it is just what I need to get going. And hopefully spring will really come this time that always helps too. Good luck to everyone today :)

Darla

Well...

Sadly to say, I am reporting a +3 for this week. The Challange is really going to motovate me and I will be back down in no time :)

-Razzle

Whatever?!

Well...I seem to have lost the 5lbs I gained last week...not sure what's up with that but I'll take it. I also have my dr. appt. today so I'll have my offical after baby weight...what do you all think...should I restart at 0 or keep my loss from before? I can't decide.

-hot momma
Thunderbuns is reporting a -1 weight loss. Good luck to everyone!!!!

3 Month Challenge

For those of you who are participating in the 3 month challenge we begin MONDAY!!! So everyone take your before pictures some time within the next couple of days!! I know that isn't the fun part but it will be so worth it later :) I am trying to figure out how to get every one's weight to us so we can figure percentages but we will figure it out. So for now we be honest with ourselves and look to Club Zero for support!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!

On the challenge...

Thunderbuns is taking her before pictures, are we all supposed to this weekend? Are we starting on Monday? When is this happening?

Thanks!

-Razzle

YUCK

Ok my fellow 3 month challenge members. I just took my before picture. Nothing in this world is going to motivate me more. I have avoided the camera like the plague for about a year now and therefore have never seen a full body shot picture of myself. I looked at my picture and thought "who the heck is that?!?!" This has totally taken this life style change to a new level for me. No more slacking and no more wishey washeyness - Thunderbuns is taking the thunder out of her buns finally. Can't wait to take my after picture - I promise it will be dramatically different. Good luck to those who are taking this challenge!!!!!! I think in three months it will be sooooooooo worth it!!!!

ON THE CHALLENGE

I have a lower ab workout that you will totally fill the next day, this is a add on to the challenge (hope you don't care) lie on your back and have your husband stand at the top of your head, grab onto his ankles for support and then, put your legs straigt up and have your husband push them down towards the ground (pretty hard) what the object is, is for you the wife laying on the ground to not let your feet hit the ground, so you need to stop your legs just before they hit the ground and then lift them back up and then your husband preceeds to push them back down. Do about 20 times, for different have him push them side to side also. Its hard!!! If you want to trade then trade and you push your husbands legs down also. (my husband had a hard time with this.)

good luck!!!

The biggest Loser

CONGRATULATIONS

I just have to do a little shout out for the Biggest Loser!!! She has lost 14 pounds!!!!! WOW!!!! That takes some serious dedication. You are an example to me!!!! Congratulations!!!!! Keep up the good work you will be hitting your 00 in no time!!!!!

-Thunderbuns

Workout

Sorry, Club Zero, again.....but yesterday was completely crazy for me, and I never found my way here. My workout for the week is this. Do something today that you will feel tomorrow. I don't care how you accomplish this. Do a workout video. Do a set of crunches. Do anything, just do enough of it to let yourself get a little bit sore. Comment on what you have done, and what hurts!!

and as a sidenote, I am going to let Darla and Thunderbuns post stand as the challenge for today, thanks for letting me off the hook with that this week.

and as another sidenote, if anyone else would like to contribute to workout Wednesday, or Challenge Thursday, you are more than welcome to, the first one to post one will be the one for that week. (I'm not quitting on you, I just think it would be great to get more ideas out there than my own, or ones from the book)

CHALLENGE!!!!!!!

We have been talking about it and we think it is time for everyone to kick their buts in gear and really do something about our weight. I am not saying everyone needs to do this but we would like to get some motivation going. We are proposing a 3 month challenge. In order to participate in this challenge you need to chip in at least $5.00. At the end of the 3 months whoever has lost the biggest percentage of weight will win a visa gift card. (for the amount of whatever we chip in). The only down fall is that you will have to tell someone what you weigh :( There will be 1 person that does the calculating and we will guarntee complete secrecy. The other catch is that at the end of the 3 months we will post a before and after photo contest of everyone that participates. Let us know what you think!!

Sorry I'm Home

Yes we are home 5 days early. Business trips stink. Warm weather or snow? Job or no job? Not much of a choice. I was planning to weigh in tomorrow, but after Razzle saying that she could not because she had company and is waiting for next week, maybe I will too. (However, my scale is in the bathroom and naked would scare the mirror) I'll sign in tomorrow.

Poppy

Healthy Eats?

This is Razzle's hubby. I'm not a member of Club Zero, but I found this on MSN and thought it could be worth posting. (Many of you know that I like to stay educated on what is healthy and what is not; sadly I do eat alot, but I try to make healthy choices and moderate my "treats" if I can.) They show what to look for and what to avoid if you're going out to eat, and some of it was really eye-opening to me.

At least I Am Not Alone

Well count me in with those who gained this past week. I am reporting a +3. I would be sad about it but the 2 trips to Coldstone and the double cheeseburger and fries from In-N-Out Burger were TOTALLY worth it. I needed this vacation in the worst way. Now I am ready to focus on getting to my goal before our family trip to Yellowstone at the end of June. Better luck to all of us this week. ALFALFA

Reporting in!! :)

I would like to report a -2 this week. I wish it was more but I had to have a ham and apple wrap from Taggarts this weekend, and it was so worth every bite. yum yum.

....and back on again.

So it seems to me (and probably you too) that I fall on and off of the bandwagon very often and very easily. Well, I am back on. I have been guilty Club Zero. Guilty of not excercising, guilty of eating whatever, whenever. Guilty of just not caring. It has to change. I have only thought of you on Mondays, and occasionally Wednesdays, and usually Thursdays when I come to apologize. Today I am turning over a new leaf. I have a scale and I have a plan. No more of this, I will just make it happen somehow magically. The work begins today. As I look back I realize that I could have been at my goal by now. Those skinny pants just have to stay in the drawer. But the past is in the past and I will change. It is possible. I also heard something very motivating to me and thought I would pass it on. Sorry that I forgot where I heard it, but it was this....that in the Gospel, and in life in general, we shouldn't have everything we want. If we let ourselves always have whatever we wanted whenever we wanted it we wouldn't be very good people. Just because we want it dosen't mean we should have it. (I think you would all agree with that point.) But the thought goes on to suggest that it is the same with our diet. Just because we want it dosen't make it good, we shouldn't ALWAYS have everything we want. (I will add my own addendum though that SOMETIMES is not always). I will not be a zero again next week if I have anything to say about it. Good Luck this week Club Zero. I am back.
-Cookie

I'm blaming it on the gravitational pull of the Moon...

since there seems to be a lot of gaining this week :)....it's comforting to know I'm not alone (but it doesn't make me any happier) I gained 5 lbs this week. DANGIT. I've gotta get enough energy to care!! (and how come you loose weight 1 lb at a time and it can come back on 5 lbs at a time!!!)

-hot momma

well.....

I guess it isn't horrible but I sure wish it wasn't there. I have to report a +1 for this week. Sadly it really is like a +4 because before we left I had lost that 3 lbs I gained last week but it is back now. But from my weight last monday it is on ly +1 So now I am back to 0 it is time for me to get on the ball. I am going to try a few different things and hope they work. It isn't easy being a nursing mom to try to watch what you eat. I know all mom's aren't like this but nursing makes me so hungry!! So I am going to try to exersize this week. Not half heartedly but really try. We did do some great exersize while we were gone and aparently it was a good thing or things would have been much worse :) So if anyone has any great workout tips please pass them on. I need all the help I can get :)

Darla

Holy Freakazoli!!!!!!

Ok so I gained 4 pounds!! Yep it is true - I did!!!! I did not diet or exercise at all while my family was here visiting and we ate out almost every day. The food was yummy - but not sure it is worth the 4 pounds I put back on --- UGH!!!!!! Time to get to work!!!!!

- Thunderbuns

So...

Due to haveing some friends from out of town stay at our house last night, I was unable to weigh in today. So...I am just going to report a 0 for this week and see what happens next week. ^_^

Workout Wednesday/Challenge Thursday

Here we are again....enjoy your fun at my expense....

I picked this one specifically for those members that I know are currently starting walking routines....

Tip #31

Don't waste your walk

Walking is a great form of exercise because, well, we all know how to do it. You can march in place in a 2 x 2 empty space, walk outside, or really burn it up on a treadmill. But did you know the wrong form or techniquie while walking can actually slow you down or cause unnecessary strain to working muscles?

Go for a walk today, but make sure you use good form and technique. Here's how:

1. Use a shorter stride. Don't leap forward with long, lengthy strides. Reather, take short quick steps. Land heel first; then roll through to the toes.

2. Let your upper body lead. Lean forward slightly from your hips and let your upper body lead the way. You want your ankles, hips, shoulders, and head i a nice, straight line-but at a slight diagonal.

3. Deep your knees soft. Don't let your knees lock up at any time during your walk.

4. Pump your arms. Bend them at a 90 degree angle, keeping the elbows in close to your body, and swing your arms back until your wrists are near your rib cage.

Tip #36

Hooked on Soda Pop?

For some of you, this may very well be one of the most difficult tasks you'll recieve.

Is all soda pop bad? In moderation, no. In excess, absolutely. If you're a regular soda drinker, "moderate" consumption would be about 12 to 24 ounces per day. "Excess" would probably equal anything over 32 ounces per day. (If you enjoy a 32 ounce or larger serving of soda pop once in a while, don't fret. It's those of us who must have more than 24 ounces of soda pop every day who need some work.) Some sodas flood your body with sugar, some with caffeine - and noncaffeinated, diet sodas (like all soda pop) simply make you miss out on drinking other healthful beverages like water, 100 percent fruit juice, or low-fat milk.

Cut out all soda pop today. Just do it. It's only one day. You can do anything for one day! This simple excercise is beneficial - even for one day - because it helps you realize that water tastes good, too, and that you really don't need that soda just to get through the day. Moderation is the key.

Sorry but the fact that it is snowing harder than it has all winter has me in the mood for great winter food. I am not sure that it is diet comfortable but it sure is mood comfortable. Boiled eggs, toast, jam and best of all POSTUM!!! Thanks Cookie!!!!!

What I did today

I just thought that I would share what I did today. I got a body assessment. You know, where they tell you what your body fat percentage is. I had this done for one of my classes in college about 4-5 years ago and, even though I can't find my book to give a percentage, I was in the obese range. Today when I had it done, I am 20.55% body fat (don't know if that is a good number or not) but the guy that did it said I am in the athletic range now. That range also came from my new book by Jillian Michaels. I was so happy to hear that. All my hard work over the years has paid off I think. Now to get that down to 0. hahaha
-Razzle

I'm back...

...not as tan as one might hope, but back and ready to get going again. And of all the things I bought while gone, a scale was not one of them. I will get one this week. I promise.

Just something to think about :)

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine. I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back.

From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible. How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain.' And my personal favorite: 'It's Monday.' She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained.. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet... We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord..

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream.. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to......not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting? Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain dropping on the ground? Ever followed a butter fly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask ' How are you?' Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say 'Hi? When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away..... Life is not a race Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

Life may not be the life we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!

Me Too

I am reporting a ZERO for the week too. Walking must have helped me because I snacked way too much last week and probably should have gained a pound or two. Hope our trip doesn't add to the numbers for next week. I will try to be good. ALFALFA

Reporting In!!

I would like to report a -2 pounds this week!!!

The biggest Loser

ZERO ZERO ZERO

Reporting a big ZERO. However it was not girl scout cookies. Mine are still in their tightly closed boxes wishing some of the kids would devour them. Just got to try harder. However, probably not next week as we too will be in St. George. Maybe when Cookie gets home, if she has a los to report, we can all have hope for next week.

Poppy

a surprise here too

I'm reporting another "ZERO" today...which I am surprised about...see we had the girl scouts show up too, and I've been stressed out w/ sick kids, lack of sleep, and other personal issues I won't go into...needless to say, my eating hasn't been so good (well...it tasted good...but you know what I mean)...so I'll happily take the "ZERO" and hope for a better week (that means one w/ no sick kids!!! and maybe hopefully a vacation at the end of it, but I'm not counting on it anymore **sniff, sniff**

@%#! Girl Scouts !!!!

Yes Yes we got our yummy cookies this week :) How can you resist those fabulous little bites of scrumptiousness. I was hoping my walking and working in the yard off set the amount of tasty morsels I consumed but alas no. I have to report a +3. I don't really think it has everything to do with the cookies I think I am retaining some serious water so hopefully it is gone next week. Yes we are taking off to St George but we are planning some great outdoor activities. I am hoping to at least come home with a 0. Wish me luck :)

Well...

Sadly I am reporting a +1 for the week. I am jumping on the bandwagon for real this week. One thing that I know I have been bad at is getting my water in. With the exercising that I am doing, I really should be better at this. That is the one thing I am going to focus on this week. I hope things turn around for the next weigh in :)

WHAT IN THE WORLD!!!!!

I don't know how this happened - it is a freak of nature. I lost 1 pound!!! I know you are asking "um, why is she so excited that she lost 1 pound." Well to answer that question for you is to tell you that I have eaten like a hog the last few days. My parents and little sister are here and we have eaten pretty much everything Alabama has to offer. NOT TO MENTION I stopped in at my FAVORITE place and ate my beloved California chicken burger with no pickles and probably 200 baskets of fries. (Worth every calorie) :O) So we have one more week of parties and food so next Monday I bet I won't be quite so lucky! :O) Good luck to y'all!!!!!
