Non-Scale Victories

On a previous weight loss site I used to post on, the had these things called Non-Scale Victories (or NSVs) The point being that sometimes we get too focued on what the scale says and get discouraged and give up.

So inbetween weigh-ins we shared NSVs things like making good food choices, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or fitting into a pair of pants that we hadn't tried on for awhile, drinking enough water...anything that made us feel victorious along the way.

I thought maybe we could do the same thing here. We all need some positive reinforcement, and sometimes seeing the good things others do inspires us to try them too...so who's with me?

For a few days I'm going to post a NSV post of the day and want EVERYONE to search for something to post that they were successful with that day. We'll see how it goes and I'll either keep up the Daily or we'll just do it occasionally.

So...post something for today (or something from the last few days) and look for something each day and let us know!!

Here's mine...last night I went on a crazy late night shopping trip (where I got discouraged at how clothes fit me) and when I picked a treat to eat on the way home to keep me awake...I chose cracker jacks (which were surprisingly "not bad") and water instead of a candy bar and a pop. felt like a victory for me :)

Love the idea. My NSV for the day would have to be the fact that I haven't had one piece of the remaining Easter candy (it has been calling to me all day, I am trying my best to ignore it)
