Workout Wednesday/Challenge Thursday

Here we are again with a two in one. I guess I should be glad that occasionally life takes over the computer, so here goes

For the workout I am going to suggest something not from the book today, I got a great suggestion from a friend. Read on your treadmill. Your pace has to be a lot slower, but if you really get into the book you will walk far longer and not notice the time. Also, you will get a great book read. For those of you that don't like to read, you could watch TV. I think we all spend some time watching TV anyways, so walk while you do it instead of sitting on the couch. For those of you without access to a treadmill, I am sorry, but you can try to fit a good healthy walk in sometime this week.

For the challenge....

Tip #214

Five pounds of fat

It dosen't matter if you have five pounds, hundreds of pounds, or no weight to lose, I want you to take a good look at some vegetable shortening today - five pounds of shortening(the amount in one large canister)* Take the lid off and get a good look. All of that greasy gunk (it won't wipe off your hands, so imagine it swimming around in your arteries) is what you could rid your body of if you set a goal to lose five pounds of fat. This simple visual is unforgettable. It will help you to find the willpower, determination, and motivation to stay on the right path so that you can lose unhealthy body fat and rejuvenate your body.

If five pounds seems like nothing to you, it shouldn't after today. I think losing a canister of Crisco off of my hips is pretty significant! Anytime you feel like losing a meager one, three, or five pounds isn't worth the effort, remember the visual picture of that five-pound tub of shortening - because, pound for pound, it is worth it!

*my large canister of Crisco only holds 3 lbs....yuck

I think that I may keep my Crisco canister visible this week and give it a good look when I am tempted by cookies, or other treats, what do you think Club Zero??

I watch a movie or a good show while I am on the treadmill. I find that the time passes so fast. I love it :) Also, with the Crisco thing, That is such a yucky image. I will be sure to keep that off my body.
