TOOOO SKINNY

Just thought that I would post an opinion. Lately I have been faced everywhere I go with the sight of people that are too thin. Unhealthy thin!!!! I know that a few extra pounds are not good but too thin is worse. It makes you look older and is really not a healthy situation. I have been told by medical doctors that a few extra pounds is better than too thin. If you get ill you have nothing to draw from. I know that most of us are young and working at keeping ourselves healthy, but lets not loose sight of the real purpose here. If you can't have a super bowl party and have a few NON HEALTHY treats, there is something wrong with your thinking. I know that society tells us that thin is beautiful, but not really!!! So from the OLD member of the club, just love who you are. What you look like outside does not make you a different person inside. I know and LOVE most of you in this club, and working together to be healthy is okay, but trying to be thin is not. So as we weigh in this week, remember that you are who you are not what you weigh. I love you all and hope for "confident" weigh in's.

LOVE
Poppy

DITTO!!!! The goal should not be to be "skinny" it should be to feel good in our bodies and be a healthier version of ourselves. I hope that is where everyone stands and not just wanting to be "skinny" Because truly the numbers on the scale don't matter it is how we feel inside!! Thanks Poppy for bringing all of us back to reality.

Amen Poppy!!! I totally agree. We have to allow ourselves a little freedom/flexibility to enjoy a fun afternoon. If our thinking becomes I can't eat that kind of food EVER because I am on a diet, then we are dangerously close to crossing the line from managing our weight to having an eating disorder.
I have a goal weight that I would like to get down to by the end of the year, but I need to realize that the most important thing is becoming physically fit while managing my weight loss the right way. Thanks for reminding us about what is most important. Alfalfa

Poppy you are the greatest and smartest person I know! I actually needed to hear that today. Today at church I was listnening to a few of the ladies in the ward talk about how they were going to loose weight. Most of their "ideas" were absolutely unhealthy. I love our group - because I know that everyone in this group loves eachother exactly the way that we are today!! I am excited to get HEALTHY!

I do agree that there is a difference in being skinny and healthy in some circumstances, BUT you can also be skinny and healthy. You should never deprive yourself of something just because you are on a diet. You can splurge sometimes, BUT I don't think it should be to the point that you forget about your diet just because it is a Sunday or the super bowl. You still have to know you are trying to eat good. This doesn't mean that you can't eat some chicken wings but you just keep it under control. One thing I have learned at Weight Watchers is not to really diet, but to change your eating habits and lifestyle in order to improve your health. I was told by my doctor that the weight that I have lost is good for my health and that I am making it easier for myself in the future. I agree with consulting a doctor with any type of diet or weight loss. My doctor has told me a weight that I can get to an NO I am not there yet but I am working on it. Club Zero has given me great support in order to reach that number since my husband doesn't really understand how hard it is :)

I totally agree!! To skinny is yuck, but just one time I would like to be told that I'm to skinny, but won't happen but that is OK. I'm trying to be happy with my body. This will be something to thing about. THANKS

Here is my piece of this soap box. I am not here to change my "holiday". I am here to change my "everyday". If I thought I would never be able to eat junky superbowl food again, or birthday cake, or christmas candy, or any of those things then see ya later, I will just be fat and happy. I think it makes so much more sense to not give up those things. My goal is to change my bad habits on all of the inbetween days. I don't think that a very indulgent holiday every now and then is going to hurt anything. And if I am a few pounds heavier for the rest of my life because I feel that way, then so be it because for me it is completely worth it.
